Noromanpiandra "Noro" RAZAFINDRAKOTO
Executive Director

Pursuing a degree in biology, ecology and animal conservation was a natural consequence of Noro's passion for the conservation of Malagasy biodiversity. In her Master of Science from the University of Antananarivo, Noro specialized in the study of Malagasy fruit bats for which she co-authored five publications.

Her first position consisted of the establishment of protected areas dedicated to the protection of these fruit bats. As Project Officer with Madagasikara Voakajy Association, Noro supervised and implemented activities related to the creation and the management of two protected areas in Anosibe An’Ala district. Most recently, Noro worked as Protected Area Management Specialist with Wildlife Conservation Society USAid Mikajy supporting the local communities to improve their capacity management of natural resources and protected areas.

Noro's previous experiences have convinced her of the importance of involving local communities in the sustainable management of the natural resources that surround them. Thus, it will be one of her priorities to ensure the commitment of these communities in the preservation of nature by adopting a participatory approach in the management of the natural resources of Fandroakando's intervention sites.
